Chikezie Eze goes home

So, Ryan asks Jason how he feels and he says that he knew it was coming, he felt weird all day, that he'd never been called out so late, so he knew something was up... He actually starts to babble a bit and at the end of it, Ryan tells him he's safe. Thanks goodness. I was starting to freak out.

So, it's down to Chikezie and Syesha. Please, oh please, let it be Chikezie.

Ryan asks Simon what Chikezie's biggest hurdle would be if he stays in the competition, and he says it's that there are better performers in the competition, but he tells Chikezie that he's in the bottom because he chose the wrong song last night and it wasn't original.

So, after the highest vote this season for a single show, America has decided that Syesha is safe and it's Chikezie going home tonight!!! The dream fulfilled - yes!!! Finally, no more Chikezie. that's what happens when you ruin my favorite Beatles song.

Thanks so much for this very thorough play-by-play of the night. I missed tonight's results show and I really appreciated the details. I too was very nervous hearing that Jason was in the bottom three. It might be a good wake up call for him and force him to be a little more thoughtful about his song choice next week. He's definitely my favorite musician and of course, he's hot!

I love Jason and was terrified that he would go home. So glad he didn't. But I also like Chikiezi and wish he had stayed longer. I've been a Beatles fan for 40 years, and I thought he did a great job with both songs. I have many favorite Beatles songs, but none are so sacred that other people can't reinterpret them, in fact I think it's a great honor that people still appreciate the songs all these decades later. I'd love to hear even more artists start singing those great songs again.

I am with you in being so happy Chikieze is gone. It's just a matter of time for the others that are always in the bottom 3. The top 3 will be Archuletta, Cook and the blonde girl who plays the piano.

I almost had a heart attack when Jason was in bottom 3. I find it hard to believe he was really the 3rd lowest in vote tallies. But I suppose we'll never know for sure.

Anyway, I am hopeful he will come back next week with something really special. He is my favorite of all of the singers. Original and very heartfelt. If he leaves the show, I will stop watching.

It's nice that you are letting the retarded write a column on this website but in future could you please find one who is not tone deaf. There were at least six performers worse than Chikezie this week, including those who were out of tune, flubbed lyrics, or were just plain awful, if Chikezie was kicked out for doing a plain R&B cover, then why is Syesha still in the competition ???

I am so disappointed that Chikieze has gone, I thought he could have made it to the top 3, he'll be missed.

Kirsty Lee Cook, should have been off instead, she is too intense, don't like her.

I agree, Chikieze has amazing talent, he should walk right out & get a record deal! I wish him all the very best!

I miss Chikezie. He didn't go home by my vote. Here's wishing him continued success and R&B lives on.

I'm sorry to see Chikezie go home. Frankly speaking I hope they go ahead and send Syesha and Ramiel home so I can stop looking at this show. American Idol has gone down hill. I'm 51 and these song choices that they're are something from my childhood. No excitment. No flavor. Let these young people do the thing right.
