My favorite part of American Idol

As I've said before, I don't understand why FOX doesn't incorporate more of a Real World/Survivor behind-the-scenes element to the show.

I love reading about and seeing the real friendships that develop on the show, sometimes between the most unlikely of contestants.

Unfortunately, the only time you really get a glimpse of that on the current show is when someone gets cut, and their friends comfort them.

Anyway, because it's Friday, check out these behind-the-scenes photos from the party FOX threw for the top 12 finalists.

There are some funny photos of David Archuleta, Jason Castro, Ramiele Malubay in there--and of Danny Noriega, Kady Malloy.

And, for you crazy Constantine Maroulis fans, he shows up, along with Chris Sligh, Justin Guarini, Gina Glockson and some other old-timers.
